Feed-A-Roo @ Australian Outback

June 28th, 2008 · No Comments

We rushed like madmen from the Proboscis Monkey hideout to reach the Australian Outback just in time to Feed-A-Roo or two.

They only hold two kangaroo feeding sessions per day, and even that only allowed up to 6 families to participate each time. We were Number 5. Lucky No. 5, that is!

Firstly, you need to pay $5 for some roo food. (There’s something here about the number 5)..Haha..

Soon before we knew it, all the gorgeous kangaroos we sneaking up around us for glorious food.

Our lil SZ simply loved being around these marsupials and was continuosly laughing his heads off.
There’s something cool about how they move around in their mobs. Lil SZ was particularly fascinated when the kangaroos balance on their small front legs and tail and swing their large, back legs forward when we fed them. And they moved around very quickly too.

Watch out! YELLOW Kangaroo crossing.

In a kangaroo pouch (used to be ‘nutshell’), it’s a really great feeling to be up close with Australia’s (even tho we’re far from OZ, it’s doesn’t matter for now ~ later on we’ll be checking our cheap Air Asia tickets to Gold Coast..haha) most treasured animals and especially getting the chance to personally hand feed them. What a privilege!

Location: Singapore Zoo, Singapore

Tram-tations

June 28th, 2008 · No Comments

We got to ride the tram all we want that day…

all for 5 Sing dollars per adult and SZ gets to ride for free. That’s the good thing about travelling with him at a wee age…haha.

The trams come in all assorted animal motifs ~ tiger, zebra and cheetah. SZ loved them all. We bet in all other zoos it’s not much different. However, the trams here seemed to have really great absorbers that make them move across all terrains rather smoothly. This is definitely a plus point to boost the overall visitor experience.

The tram operates in almost 3/4 of the route within the total zoo area. The remaining had to be covered on foot.

We get to hop on and off as we like. We did just that…maybe went round in it for more than 5 times (especially when our feet start to ache and felt like giving up).

SZ just couldn’t get enough of the rides…so Abah let him attempt at driving one.

Ok that’s all the Tram tales from SZ the Tiny Xplorer. Bye bye tram…see u another day.
